Learn to Ride a Bike

Our Learn 2 Ride Program is for kids and adults who hesitate to ride on two-wheels, or who just haven't quite made the transition from training-wheels or balance bikes. We incorporate silliness, games, and prizes to help reduce fear and make learning to ride fun.

Our Method

Cycling Education for All Abilities | Learn to Ride A Bike for Kids Utah | CycleAbility

Let's Play Bikes!

During the first lesson we introduce balance and coordination by removing the pedals and gliding through obstacle courses and playing games.

Once adequate balance has been demonstrated, we will transition to supported riding with pedals. We will run alongside your rider providing necessary support as they learn how to coordinate pedaling, balancing, and steering.

Introduce Intermediate Skills

As each rider becomes more confident with independent riding, we will gradually introduce skills like starting, slowing, coasting, focused steering and dismounting safely.

Some riders will learn these skills during the first lesson, but others may need 2 or more lessons to get to this point. After the initial lesson, additional follow up lessons are offered at a discounted rate.

Practice Real world riding (Follow up Lesson)

Once your rider has demonstrated their ability to ride safely in a flat, open, parking area, we will introduce them to riding in public.

We only offer this lesson as a follow up and includes practicing riding along sidewalks and bike paths, learning traffic rules and etiquette, and navigating other riders and pedestrians.
